The history of Henneke Funeral Home dates back to 1896 when James Ramsey opened a hardware and undertaking store in the historic Ehrenwerth-Ramsey-Untermeyer building in downtown Columbus, Texas. His son, Charles Ramsey, continued in his father's footsteps until 1925, when he sold the business to the Untermeyer family who owned and operated Untermeyer Funeral Home for over 40 years. Ouis Edward Henneke, a loving husband and father, retired owner of an emergency services software company, avid boater and fisherman, died on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at the age of 73 at his home in Edgewater, Maryland. Born on March 8, 1949 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Edmund and Marguerite Henneke, he graduated from the University of Maryland in 1971. Lou embarked on a career of computer software development, eventually, along with his partner, forming Public Safety Systems Inc. in 1984.
